Product introduction
Under specified test conditions, the sample is burned, and after removing the ignition source, the flame only spreads within a limited range on the sample and extinguishes itself, which means it has the ability to prevent or delay the occurrence or spread of flames. The combustion of wires, cables, and cables is caused by the production of flammable gases through external heating. To achieve flame retardancy, it is necessary to suppress the three elements that cause combustion, namely: flammable gases, heat, and oxygen. Therefore, the general method used for flame-retardant wires and cables is to add halides and metal oxides containing halogens to the sheath material. From the perspective of flame retardancy, this is an excellent method. However, due to the presence of halogens in these materials, a large amount of smoke and hydrogen halide gas are released during combustion, resulting in low visibility during fires, which greatly hinders the safe evacuation and firefighting of personnel, and people are more likely to suffocate and die from toxic gases. In addition, once hydrogen halide gas reacts with water in the air, it generates "hydrogen halide acid", which seriously corrodes instruments, equipment, and buildings, causing "secondary disasters".
With the continuous improvement of technology, the issue of flame retardancy has evolved from halogen flame retardancy in the past to low halogen and halogen-free flame retardancy.
