The insulation material of the crosslinked cable is XLPE, and the substrate is PE and other components. The crosslinking process is to form the linear molecular structure of polyethylene (PE) material into a network structure of crosslinked polyethylene through a specific processing method. The long-term allowable operating temperature is increased from 70 ° C to 90 ° C (or higher), and the short-circuit allowable temperature is increased from 140 ° C to 250 ° C (or higher) under the premise of different electrical properties, the actual performance is greatly improved. There are many methods for cross-linking cables. At present, the commonly used cross-linking methods are peroxide chemical cross-linking (DCP cross-linking). Silane cross-linking and irradiation cross-linking, according to the different materials, silane cross-linking can be divided into warm water cross-linking and non-boiled silane cross-linking. Regardless of the cross-linking method, the thermal extension of the cross-linking cable meets the performance requirements of the national standard.
1. Chemical crosslinking.
DCP crosslinking production line adopts catenary or tower equipment. Plant cost is high, need to consume a lot of water, electricity, gas and so on. So the investment is large; Due to the long production line, it is only suitable for the production of large length cables; High environmental requirements require a special production workshop.
2. Silane crosslinking.
Silane crosslinked production line only requires ordinary extruder and heating device (hot pool or steam room), less investment, low environmental requirements, flexible production, suitable for the production of large length or short cable, can produce different lengths of cable according to customer needs.
3. Irradiation crosslinking.
Irradiation crosslinking, irradiation crosslinking is the use of high-energy electron beams generated by electron accelerators, bombarding the insulation and jacket, breaking the linear molecular structure of polyethylene (polyethylene) material polymer chain, each break point becomes a free radical. Free radicals are unstable and should be recombined. After recombination, the original chain molecular structure becomes a three-dimensional network molecular structure, forming a cross-linking. In addition, the radiation dose applied in the irradiation crosslinking production process has a large margin with its damage dose. The radiation damage dose of polyethylene is 1000kgy, and the processing dose is about 200kgy. Coupled with the improvement of the special formulation, the radiation crosslinking is still in a fairly wide range, so the performance of the radiation will be improved over a longer early use course.
