1. Use digital multimeter detection method:

The specific method of detecting the breakpoint of wire and cable with a digital multimeter:

First of all, one end of the wire (cable) with a break point should be connected to the fireline of 220V mains power, and the other end should be suspended. Pull the digital multimeter to AC2V gear, start from the firewire access end of the wire (cable), hold the tip of the black watch pen with one hand, and move the red watch pen slowly along the insulation cover of the wire with the other hand. At this time, the voltage displayed on the display screen is about 0.445V. When the red pen moves to a certain place, the voltage displayed on the display suddenly drops to a few volts (about one-tenth of the original voltage), and about 15cm from the position forward (firewire access end) is where the wire (cable) break point is.

When using this method to check the shielded wire, if only the core wire is broken but the shielding layer is not broken, then the method cannot be used.

2, the use of induction pen detection detection method:

The following method is only suitable for a variety of cables without shielding: induction test pen (that is, with a digital watch-like screen, can detect voltage and on-off). First of all, the cable around the breakpoint cable has a power supply, and then the cable with a breakpoint is connected to the firewire, the pen is perpendicular to the wire, and the "induction breakpoint test" button is held down to move slowly forward on the wire, and when the AC signal detected by the test pen suddenly disappears, the breakpoint can be judged at the detection point, and the error is not more than 10cm.

It should be noted that the cable around the breakpoint wire cannot have a power supply. In addition, it should be reminded that this method is not all-around, the short cable effect is obvious, the longer the cable, the worse, it is a simple method in the absence of a cable breaker.

3, line detection method

Connect one end of the wire with the break point to the black watch pen of the multimeter and the other end to the red watch pen. The multimeter is set at resistance *200 Ohm. Bend back and forth where the wire is likely to break, such as at frequent bending points. If the multimeter displays intermittently on and off, this is the breakpoint. If you cannot determine, bend the cable from one end until you find a break point. This method is suitable for shorter cables.

Second, the detection method of damaged wire and cable

1. Acupuncture detection method

Insert a steel needle into the broken cable in sections, and measure the connection between the steel needle and the cable end using a multimeter to determine the cable break point. Under normal circumstances, it is not recommended to use, because it will destroy the insulation layer, and it is easy to cause other problems in the later use of the cable, especially in a high humidity environment. This method uses the on-off of the cable to check the breakpoint of the cable.

2, drawing wire detection method

Use a vise to pull out the broken cable at the cable end. If the break point is near the cable end, the insulation cover is easily broken. This method is used for the breakpoint near the end of the cable, such as the drive control button cable.
