Power cable is one of the essential materials for the transmission of power energy, and is widely used in economic production. Once the cable fails, it will not only threaten the safe and stable operation of the power grid, but also cause economic losses to the enterprise, and it will cause a chain reaction of damage. Today, Xiaobian will take you to understand about safe and qualified cables, what tests need to be done before leaving the factory?

Electrical performance test (Electrical performance test)
There are mainly conductor DC resistance, insulation resistance, finished product voltage test and insulated wire core voltage test, each is very important, conductor resistance directly reflects the electrical transmission performance of the cable, directly affects the temperature, life, voltage drop, and operation safety of the cable in energized operation.
It mainly examines the material and cross-sectional area of the conductor, if the material of the conductor is not good or the cross-sectional area is seriously insufficient, it will cause the conductor DC resistance to seriously exceed the standard.
The insulation resistance, the finished product voltage test and the voltage test between the insulated wires are all examining the electrical insulation performance of the cable insulation layer and the sheath layer. The insulation resistance is the resistance of the insulating material between the two conductors, which should be large enough to play the role of insulation protection. The finished voltage test and the voltage test between the insulated wires not only require the cable to have sufficient insulation capacity, but also require the insulation or sheath material to be uniform without impurities, the thickness is uniform enough, and the surface can not have invisible trachoma, pinholes, etc., otherwise it will cause local breakdown during the voltage test.
